Hi, I am Marta! Nice to meet you!
I am a Barcelona-based Polish girl that decided to become a full-time World traveler. I love exotic destinations and unique adventures. I am here to inspire you to leave your comfort zone far behind, preferably on the other continent πŸ˜‰

About the blog

Why the name? Where Life is Great??

When I travel, I always look for beautiful landscapes, friendly people and unique moments. I engage with locals and try to get the most out of my travel. Does it mean that life is always great where and when I travel? Of course not, but Β I believe a positive attitude and an open mind is a key to a great life. A life full of travels!

What is it all about?

Where Life is Great is a community for travel and adventure lovers who want to travel in style without breaking the bank. I want to convince you (yes, you!) that exotic destinations are not out of your reach! To travel far you don’t need a suitcase full of cash, just big dreams, and a fearless optimism will do! Get the most of your travels and have a laughΒ or two (or more) by reading my adventures. Excited? Go explore!

Where have you been?

I have traveled to over 40 countries and have ticked off some exciting adventures on the way. So, if you love adventures, traveling in an affordable and stylish way, you’ll feel right at home here. Expect tons of inspiration, stories, and tips from around the Globe. Check where I have been here.

A few things to know about me

Since we both know that I love travels…

…let me tell you a few things you didn’t know about me:

Turtle beach on Hawaii

//1// Turtle freak

Yes, you read that right!

I have to admit it. I’m a turtle lover… Actually, I love all kind of marine creatures! Once I even drove 9h just to see a turtle beach in Oman! And yes, there are too many exclamation marks in here…

This picture was taken in Hawaii. I went snorkeling at Molokini crater and was later meant to head to TurtleΒ cleaning station, but the tide was high and unfortunately that stop got canceled.

As a turtle freak, I couldn’t just accept that! Instead, I took a map of Oahu and started asking locals where could I see sea turtles. This way I ended up on Turtles Beach and was happy again.

//2// Accidental Adventurer

As you can see, I am not very keen on adventure sports...

…but somehow I always end up rafting in a river full of snakes or jumping out of plane (Yikes!).

If you think that I look on this picture like I know what I am doing, better read this blog postΒ fromΒ myΒ skydiving experience in Dubai. My face expression after being pushed out of a plane is priceless.

Nevertheless, after the first shock, I really enjoyed it and would repeat it in a heartbeat. So don’t get me wrong, I do love adventures, but usually slightly less adrenaline fueled.

Skydive Dubai Marina

//3// Spontaneous Jetsetter

Sometimes to the extreme

And by extreme, I mean ending up on a small island in the Seychelles without accommodation nor Internet to find the accommodation…

If you ask yourself now, how on Earth can anyone just end up on Seychelles like that, without any plans, read on my friend, read on! The next point, explains it all.

View from the airplane

//4// Compulsive shopper

...for flight tickets!

I feel like I have set a price alert for every possible country in the world! And I always manage to get some pretty sweet deals! For example, I bought tickets to Seychelles from Milan on New Year’s Eve for 300 euros, or Budapest-Dubai for 150 euros. Find out how byΒ joining my free flight hacking course!

Me writing about myself

Still interested in knowing sth about me?

As long as I remember, I wanted to be a travel writer. As a kid, I preferred to read travel magazines than comic books, as a student I mastered the skill of finding multiple scholarships abroad, and as a young professional, I used to spend all my savings on travels.Β  I enjoy giving bits of advice and helping people with their travel plans. That is why I decided to create this travel blog.

After graduating from University (I studied Business) and moving to Barcelona, I chose to chase my dream of traveling for a living. I made a Master in Graphic Design, gained experience in Marketing working for tech companies and started building this website from grounds up.

So, to wrap it up, in a parallel universe, I am a designer and business graduate, crazy about innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. I generate 100 ideas per minute and can’t stand still. I love creating things (do you see a correlation?). Also, I am fearlessly optimistic. I always look at the bright side of the things – that is why I make a great travel companion. Now you know!

Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival is definitely a bucket Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival is definitely a bucket list experience!

Each year during the winter months, Hokkaido's Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival brings a dose of colorful magic to this corner of Japan with numerous illuminated ice sculptures. It was definitely my favorite winter festival till today 😍

Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to get outside and enjoy the beauty of winter. And to enjoy the famous JAPOW - the iconic great powder of Japan!

Fresh snow in Hokkaido is said to be of the finest quality. So fine, in fact, that skiers and snowboarders all over the world insist on riding JAPOW at least once in their lifetime. Have you tried it already?
